Pats76 GTG with Sandip, Rahul, Suchanda at Jal Vayu Vihar on 2026-03-18

Wonderful evening spent at Jal Vayu Vihar, Salt Lake, Kolkata with sister cum friend Suchanda and St Patrick's School Asansol classmate buddies Sandip and Rahul on Wednesday 2026-03-18 evening. 

We missed Tito (Krisnendu Sar) for the GTG. However, we pulled him in from Haldia for some time through a video call. 

Indian Roadie was discussed at length. 

The adda was so refreshing. 

Feeling elated.

IR GTG 2023-05-23 for Chicken Pakoras on EM Bypass, near Garia Dhalai Bridge

We 7 of us in Kolkata had a lovely Indian Roadie GTG/ Foodie Roadie India GTG/ Bengal Roadie GTG on Tuesday 2023-05-23 evening at a stall which did flourishing business in frying and selling chicken and fish delicacies by the roadside in the southern fringes of the city. 

After a terribly hot day with uncomfortable levels of humidity, it drizzled for a short while and the weather became perfectly pleasant for such a meet. Believe in me, the moisture laden cool breeze felt like as if we were by the seaside 😊. 

Even while munching Chicken Pakoras (₹10 per piece), Chicken Stick (₹30 per piece) and Fish Fry (₹70 per piece) at an abandoned roadside shack to avoid getting wet, we discussed road trip stories, new cars in the offing, EVs, road conditions and most interestingly, utterly stupid discussions in another forum formed after inspiration provided by an ex-IndianRoadie where the left hand of the Admin doesn't have a clue of what the right hand does. 

Location of the GTG: Eastern Metropolitan Bypass between the Dhalai Bridge and Pepsi bottling plant enroute to Kamalgazi and in close proximity to the highrise Rajwada Apartments crossing.

Finally, a big 'thank you' to Abhimanyu Chatterjee, Abhirup Basu, Saujatya Kole, Gautam Roy, Nirmalya Das, Sandip Hunday for being so proactive and making it to the GTG to get rejuvenated for the next couple of days/ weeks.

IR GTG 2023-04-15 @ Taj City Centre - Kinshuk Arya

In mid November 2022, Kinshuk Arya and Sneha Chandrasekhar Arya of Pune had crossed Kolkata during the penultimate stage of their epic 8600 kms drive with 6 yrs old daughter and 5 months old son. The details of their drive is already there in this forum. 

Although I was aware of their movements, I missed the opportunity of meeting them because they were in a hurry to return to their base station, viz. Pune. During a subsequent telecon Kinshuk had promised to return to Kolkata soon. 

The couple were back to Kolkata with the munchkins for the H.O.G East meet on 14th and 15th April 2023 even while Kolkata was going through an unprecedented heat wave. I missed the opportunity to meet the munchkins and Sneha once again but fortunately managed to meet up with Kinshuk at their hotel in City Centre 2 Annexe on 2023-04-15 afternoon. 

It was a nice Indian Roadie GTG lasting for about an hour.

IR GTG 2022-12-03 @ Mio Amore, IA, Salt Lake - Maneesh Vijaya

Indian Roadie Maneesh Vijaya from New Delhi had spoken to me on the phone quite a few times prior to December 2022. Both of us were waiting eagerly for the right opportunity to meet up. 

Finally on 2022-12-03 morning, I was thrilled to receive a call from Maneesh wherein he told me that he was on his way to the airport to board a flight to Kolkata to attend a marriage on the same evening. It was decided that we will meet up the next morning before his departure for Delhi. 

It was a memorable long awaited Indian Roadie GTG on 2022-12-04 morning at Mio Amore, IA256, Salt Lake and Bancharam sweet shop before bidding adieu. The duration of the meeting was short. I wish we could have had more time in hand to discuss numerous other topics of mutual interest. 

Dear Maneesh, we must meet for a longer duration during your next visit to Kolkata. Hopefully, the wait will be sooner than expected.

IR GTG 2022-11-28 @ Sweet N Sour, IA, Salt Lake - Anand Sathyamoorthy

Indian Roadie Anand Sathyamoorthy of Navi Mumbai was in Kolkata for 3 - 4 days of hectic official work. I felt so humbled when he called me up on 2022-11-28 afternoon immediately after landing in Kolkata and said that he did not want to miss the opportunity of meeting me. 

My mother was in hospital after falling down and fracturing her hips the previous afternoon. A major surgery was due for early morning on 29th November 2022. 

Nevertheless, we met up for a pleasant Indian Roadie GTG over cups of steaming hot coffee at our regular Indian Roadie Adda Joint at IA block in Salt Lake on 2022-11-28 evening.
