Tanmoy Das took delivery of his new Suzuki Access scooty from Animesh Suzuki on 2026-05-20

Indian Roadie Tanmoy Das is in Kolkata since early May 2026 for an assignment. For local commuting he needed a scooty urgently. He booked a Suzuki Access 125. 

He took delivery of a brand new mat black coloured Suzuki scooty from the Animesh Suzuki showroom in Baguiati on 2026-05-20 evening. 

He had requested me to accompany him to the showroom and thereafter for the mandatory puja. 

The delivery experience was anything but pleasant. Barring one young boy, the women on the floor were pretty rude and unprofessional. Suzuki products are good but the rude behaviour of shop floor employees left a bad taste in my mouth. 

The delivery process got over at around 6.30 pm. The puja was performed by the friendly pujari of Baguiati Maa Kali Temple. 

Post the puja rituals, we stopped by at the Taste N Bite franchise outlet on Rajarhat Road, opposite Loknath Mandir for some quick bite and 'adda'.

Dinner GTG at Papyrus, AE369 with Sandip, Rahul, Suchanda, Tito, Keya di on 2026-05-23

St Patrick's School Asansol classmate Sandip Samanta (Pats76) had driven down from  Asansol to Kolkata in the morning on Saturday 2026-05-23. 

He picked me up after office hours from my place at around 5.30 pm for a leisurely drive. 

Thereafter, it was a wholesome Pats76 GTG at sister Suchanda's place (in Salt Lake).  

The adda was followed by a dinner outing at Papyrus, AE369, Salt Lake (opposite CAP Camp). Sujata Samanta didi (Keya di) and her daughter joined us at Papyrus. The dinner and adda ended well past 11 pm.

Classmate Bijit Ghosh Dastidar from St Xavier's College Kolkata days was in Kolkata for a vacation. We have always remained in touch since the past 46 years. 

Before he returned to his workplace in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh around the month-end, courtesy demanded that I meet him. On Tuesday 2026-05-19 evening, I made it a point to visit him at his place in Park Circus, Kolkata.

Bulldozers at wok in Beliaghata, Kolkata for laying pipes in December 2025

Ever since I spotted these bulldozers working almost round the clock to lay drinking water pipes under Beliaghata Main Road, Kolkata 700010 in mid December 2025, my hopes for a New West Bengal from May 2026 got rekindled. 

My dreams came true on 2026-05-04. 

Within 7 days of a changed regime and a new government under the leadership of Suvendu Adhikari reading out the oath on 2026-05-09, the same bulldozers have already started rolling to decimate known deshdrohis and wrongdoers.

Avik (schoolmate Amit Banerjee's son) wed Pooja on 2026-05-03 at South City Club, Kolkata

Avik (St Patrick's School Asansol batchmate Amit Banerjee's son) wed Pooja Bhattacharya on 2026-05-03 at South City Club, Kolkata. 

It was a lovely evening spent together. 

Avik is an IT professional with Ford Motor Company in Detroit, USA. Pooja is an IT professional with Mastercard, Ireland. 

BHU-ITian Amit (Pats76) was not only my school batchmate. He was also my school busmate since 1973-74. He retired as the Chairman cum Managing Director of BEML Ltd, Bangalore and has settled in Bangalore.
