Dosa at Maa Kali South Indian Food, Kolkata 700010 on 2026-01-07

Had my favourite paper thin masala dosa from Maa Kali South Indian Food in Kolkata 700010 after a long time on 2026-01-07 evening, made for me with lots of love by its extremely well behaved and affable owner Bablu Ghosh.
The dash of fresh coriander leaves and groundnuts enhanced the taste a lot.
Price: ₹55 only.
The chill outside made the dosa taste even better.

Extremely cold in Kolkata on 2025-12-30 evening

4 pcs of clothing (a T-shirt, a thick full sleeved shirt, a 8 ply woolen pullover, and another thick dark blue woolen pullover as the topmost layer) on my body inside home in Kolkata with all curtains drawn at 11.30 pm on Wednesday 2025-12-30. Btw, I removed the thick muffler for the photo, and have wrapped it up while writing this piece of content.

I am still feeling cold 🤭
My work will end at 5 am. I might try to wrap up the 'rezai' (quilt) around me 😉

I wish I could wear another thick something over what you see in the attached photo!

How's the chill in your place and where are you?

Visited 21st Saras Mela in Newtown on 2025-12-22

Visited the 21st edition of Saras Mela, Block BF, Action Area 1, Newtown, Kolkata with Sandip Samanta and Rahul Sarkar on Tuesday 2025-12-22 afternoon. It's a fair to promote handicrafts from West Bengal and elsewhere in India.
The mela was inaugurated on 2025-12-19 and will continue upto 2026-01-06.
Thereafter, drove down to have coffee and fish fry at Cafe Ekante, Banglar Haat, Biswa Bangla Sarani.

Kolkata sun has set well before 5.15 pm on 2025-11-09

It's just about 5.15 pm on Sunday 2025-11-09 and the sun has already set over Kolkata. It's almost impossible to drive without switching on the headlights of your car or two-wheeler after 5 pm.
In 2025, in spite of a clear sky during the day, it started getting completely dark by 5.45 pm ever since mid October (viz. Diwali) between Kolkata and Balasore, Kolkata and Dhanbad, Kolkata and Baharampur towards North Bengal.
People from rest of India should plan their drives accordingly.
The attached photo is evidence enough.
